13. Did Marcellus continue to work in insurance or the jewelry business after he remarried?

Marcellus collected insurance during the day and canvassed for watch and clock repairs at night. When this work increased, he rented one side of P. A. Martin’s Grocery and Confectionery store at 1100 West Leigh Street where he repaired and sold jewelry. Marcellus worked full-time repairing jewelry, purchased the grocery business from P. A. Martin and then moved both businesses to 534 North Hancock Street. He taught his sons the business and operated jewelry and grocery activities together for some years. In 1921, Marcellus sold the grocery store and operated the jewelry repair business exclusively. He purchased the property at 1007 West Leigh Street in 1922.
